Life is sacred from the moment of conception until natural death because we are created by God in His image and likeness.
Fifth Grade’s Main Theme
Students will make foam pictures with life affirming messages:
Gather materials; one per student colored foam sheets 5.5 x 8.5, self-adhesive foam letters in different colors ½” or ¾” (make sure you have enough of the most used letters so that the students can write their message and you don’t run out), glue sticks, marker or pen to write their name, self-adhesive magnetic tape or squares. One each of the small foot print. They can always be creative by cutting and repositioning (ie..an F can become a T) *
It is good to show the kids a completed sample of the project so that they know what they are aiming to create. Write a couple short sample message on the board for students to see. LIFE IS SACRED, MADE IN HIS IMAGE, GOD’S HANDYWORK.
Have letters in two or three containers in the back of the classroom so that they can find the letters they need.
Using a glue stick glue, the baby’s foot print with verse from Genesis 1:27 in the center or the foam sheet. The message with the foam letters will be above and below.
Each student will get a couple of 1” pieces of sticky magnet strip. At the end attach they will sticky magnet to the back of their project, they can display them on their lockers, desks or take them home.
