Activity

Students will create bookmarks as a reminder of our discussion and will talk about spiritually adopting an unborn baby.

The students will pledge to pray for 9 months (they can also pray for 9 days or 9 weeks if it seems too long) for an unborn baby. Help them to pick out a baby’s due date (maybe a feast day or holy day make it easier to remember when the baby will be born)

Gather materials; Gather materials. Cardstock cut 2”x 6” or a little larger. 3” ribbon to attach to their bookmark at the end. Tiny foot prints punch and stamps with different ink pad colors.
Give each student a piece of cardstock/bookmark and let them decorate it as they wish. They can attach a small card of Our Lady of Guadalupe to their book mark
Have the students count 9 months out and imagine a baby that will be born at that time. They can choose to “adopt” a boy or a girl. Ask them to place their bookmark in a place that they will be reminded to pray for that baby and his/her parents.
Attach tassel or ribbon.
