Activity I :

Students will make “One of a Kind” Fingerprint Art sheet activity.

Activity II:

Students will make a bookmark with Scripture verse and Fingerprint:

1. Gather materials. Cardstock cut 2”x 6” or a little larger. 3” ribbon to attach to their bookmark at the end.  Ink pads, magnifying glasses, to share, scripture verses printed to attach with glue stick or for students to write on their bookmark depending on their ability.  

2. Give each student a piece of cardstock. Have them apply their fingerprint* at the top or bottom of one side leaving room for Bible verse.

3. Students can decorate their book mark and put the ribbon/tassel at the end. 

4. Using the magnifying glasses, let students look/compare with each other how each print is unique.

5. Students can have extra paper or use the attached handout to make animals or other fun things with their finger prints.  

6. Done!

   (note: If possible, laminate the children’s bookmarks)

*The children should gently press on the ink pad with their finger so as not to get too much ink on their finger. Otherwise, it is just a big blob and you can’t see their fingerprints. A firm inkpad works better than the spongy ones. The teacher should practice with the inkpad first. It is good to have paper for the students to practice how to put their finger on the inkpad before putting it on the bookmark.
